Zappy Electric Co

Residential electrical services, done to code and done right

Six core services for Fort Collins and Northern Colorado homes. Every job gets a flat-rate quote upfront, a licensed electrician on site, and a clean handoff when we’re done.

Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting

An outlet that stopped working, lights that flicker when the furnace kicks on, a breaker that trips every week. Small symptoms can hide real problems, so we diagnose the actual fault instead of patching the symptom, then fix it properly.

Panel Upgrades

A lot of Old Town and midcentury Fort Collins homes still run on 60- or 100-amp panels that were never meant to handle modern kitchens, A/C, and home offices, let alone an EV. A 200-amp upgrade gives your home safe capacity for decades.

Lighting Installation

Good lighting changes how a room feels and works. We plan placement around how you actually use the space, then install it with clean wiring and dimmers where they make sense.

Ceiling Fans

A ceiling fan is only as safe as the box it hangs from. We install fan-rated bracing, run proper wiring, and balance the fan so it runs quiet on flat, sloped, or vaulted ceilings.

EV Charger Installation

Skip the public charger lines. A Level 2 home charger adds 25 to 40 miles of range per hour while you sleep. We confirm your panel can handle the load, run the dedicated circuit, and mount the charger where it’s actually convenient.

Whole-Home Surge Protection

Colorado’s summer lightning season is hard on electronics. A whole-home surge protector installed at the panel absorbs spikes before they reach your appliances, computers, and EV charger. That’s protection a power strip can’t offer.

Frequently asked questions

Common signs: breakers trip regularly, the panel is rated 100 amps or less, you still have a fuse box, lights dim when big appliances start, or you’re adding something power-hungry like an EV charger or hot tub. We’ll assess it during a free estimate. If your panel is fine, we’ll tell you.

Most installs take 2 to 4 hours when the panel has capacity and the garage is near the panel. Longer runs or a needed panel upgrade add time, and you’ll know the full scope and flat price before we start.

No. Estimates are free, and the price we quote is the price you pay. If we uncover something unexpected mid-job, we stop and talk it through with you before doing any additional work.
